ABSTRACT:
The paper describes the performance characteristics, the design variations and the field experience with a plastic case liquid-filled self-protected metallized polypropylene capacitor. The plastic case design uses a toggle hinge molded into the cover as the expansion element for the pressure interrupter, which is a major difference between the metal case/metal cover design and the metal case/plastic cover design.
